Meal Plan Monday: Halogen Oven Review | 21 Jan 2013

Happy Monday Everyone... I hope your all hungry and ready to Meal Plan with me. This is a great week because I have a new toy that I want to tell you about!!!!


So last week at Aldi I snagged myself a Halogen Oven for $24.99 which was an awesome deal! I had been looking for one for awhile but I refused to pay hundreds of dollars for one. The box says I can Bake, broil and fry with this one little oven so I'm trying to make everything in it.

Just let me tell you that I love this oven the clean up is easy the cooking time is fast and the food is delightful. Everything that I have prepared is moist and tender and since you cook using the racks its healthy too. No more having your baked chicken sitting in a pool of grease.

 

Monday: Baked Chicken, Rice and Broccoli.
 

Tuesday: Pork chops, Mash Potatoes and Corn.

Wednesday: Rest and Relax- Left overs!!!!

Thursday: Hamburger Helper.... What ever that's in the cabinet

Friday: Hamburger and French Fries 

Saturday: Homemade Tacos, Re-fried Beans and Spanish rice.


Sunday: Going out to eat! Day off work will be relaxing :)

My Review:

OMG I Lost My Job is a modern day survival guide for what to do when you loose your job. Personally with the way the economy is I suggest you read this even if you have a job as a just in case for you or someone else. Are your finances in order for you to loose your job tomorrow? Do you have a back up plan? This book will get you to thinking about it.

The book is divided into the following sections:

• Evaluate- What do I really want to do, How much time do I have and Emergency Measures.
• Make your plan- Your job search, making job contacts, resume, getting new skills and filling in.
• Implement- Getting motivated, interview tips and once you land the job.

This book will get you back up and running when you feel like you have just lost it all. The writer helps you calculate how much money you have and how long it last, how to write a killer resume if you don't have one and what to say to land that next job. 


My Rating: 5 
This book gave me some great ideals that I want to try out and I have a job just to bring in some more income. My savings plan is not exactly where I want it to be and this book helped me to see that.

Knot Genie- Post Review + $4 Coupon

So earlier this year I hosted my first Pre- product review on the Knot Genie. If you read this post you would know that I didn't care for the Knot Genie website and didn't think it would do much for my hair.  So lets rewind back to August when I did the post. I received a post offering me to trying out the Knot Genie if I would write a post on it. I did my post about four weeks later a small box arrived in the mail.

So I opened the box looked at the nice palm size gadget, shook my head and put it to the side. Now for about two weeks it sat in the same place untouched because I figures it would not work so I would probably gift it away for give it to my daughter for her baby doll. But that didn't seem to happen.....one day after washing my hair I was in the process of detangling my hair when it crossed my mind to just try it out.

After searching for the box I tried out the Knot Genie on my stubborn hair. Just to refresh your memory again... I have very kinky/course hair... it can take hours to detangle my hair sometimes. But I tried it out and I LOVED IT.... yep, I am a fan of the Knot Genie and I think you should be too if you have not already tried it.

So the Knot Genie proved me wrong, it is an awesome product. I recommend this for everyone... I use it on my self and my daughter and she no longer complains when I comb her hair.

My Local food review is for one of my now favorite restaurants in the DFW. Now I have drove by this place for the last five years and not until recently did I decided to try it out. The food has lots of flavor for a fast food spot. The presentations is good food is always fresh.

Formosa Express happens to be one of the best stops in the area if you are looking for good food at a low cost.  As you know my over all goal is to get great quality at low prices and this is what I found here. I tried this place three times before I choose to share it with you all because I didn't want to say hey this is great and then you visit and its terrible.

When I visit I go during lunch time hours usually at 12:30pm since that is my lunch time. I only get a 30 minute lunch so I place my order online for pick up around 12:15 and tell them in the notes that I will be there around 12:40. When I arrive they are usually finish with my order or just bagging it up some its still hot and ready.

Pros:

• Great Food 
• Great Prices- 33 of there Lunch specials are $4.85  that includes Entree, Fried Rice, Egg Roll and Drink. Everyday from 11am- 3pm
• Fast Service- Four ways to order ( Walk In, Drive thru, Fax or Online)
• Convenient hours ( M-Sat 11am-10pm; Sun Noon-9:30pm)
• They Deliver....$5 minimum

Cons:

• Parking is limited during busy hours. 
• Drive Thru not long enough for many car... walk in is better!
